Meet the Staff
Laura Hodson (Head Girl)

Laura attended Myerscough College from 2001 to 2003 and completed a National Diploma in Equine Studies, this enabled her to complete a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science, Behaviour and Welfare in 2006, whilst studying for her BSc Laura also gained my BHS stages 1, 2 and PTT.
After university Laura went to work as a Riding Instructor/Trainee. During that time she completed 250 hours teaching experience, and her Stage 3. She was awarded her full BHSAI certificate in 2007. Laura also completed her NVQ Level 3 and began NVQ Assessor Training.
In December 2007 Laura joined the team at Arkenfield as a Riding Instructor/Yard Staff, she was promoted to Head Girl early in 2008.
Laura bought her first horse (Drew/Orianna II) in June 2008, he was already stabled at Arkenfield and he had previously showjumped up to Foxhunter level with Jenny Brookfield. Laura began competing in Dressage firstly in Unaffiliated competitions where they were very successful, after only two months Laura and Drew moved onto Affiliated competitions and they haven't looked back since.

Qualified for Winter Preliminary (R) and Novice (R) Regional 2008.
Qualified for, and winner of Novice (R) Petplans, Myerscough College 2008.
Placed 7th at Preliminary Winter National Championships held at Hartpury, April, 2009.
Placed 8th 1st round of Novice (R) Petplan Final, gaining entry to the second round and being placed 11th overall, Hartpury, April, 2009.
Qualified for Elementary (R) Petplans 2009.
Qualified for Novice (R) Summer Regionals, Somerford Park, 2009.

Laura specialises in teaching nervous riders from beginners through to advanced level. Her kind sympathetic approach helps build confidence, which in turn helps build a better rider.
Laura predominately trains with our Chief Instructor, Miss Silvia Schorn as well as help from Darryl Thickitt.
